School Rules

At St John's there are 4 school rules that we expect the children to follow and uphold:

1. Be Responsible
2. Be Respectful
3. Be Safe
4. Be Organised

We are RESPECTFUL learners when we:
* are kind to others
* do what we are asked to do straight away
* speak nicely
* listen when someone else is talking
* remember to use our manners

We are RESPONSIBLE learners when we:
* try our best with our school work
* think before we do something
* look after our belongings
* put rubbish in the right bins
* follow the 5L's for great listening

We are ORGANISED learners when we:
* remember to bring everything we need
* zip our bags up
* pack things away neatly and in the right places
* finish all our work
* remember to go to the toilet at play time

We are SAFE learners when we:
* walk around the learning space
* remember to use the High Five Strategy
* sit on our chairs properly
* push our chairs under our tables
* wear our hats outside

THE HIGH FIVE STRATEGY

We also have a Hi-Five Strategy that we teach the children
to help them through a conflict at school, be it in the classroom, or on the playground.

If someone is doing or saying something we don't like, we:

1. Speak firmly
2. Say "STOP!"
3. Say "I don't like what you're doing"
4. Walk away
5. Tell the teacher IF the person won't stop
